Project Pan 2016

Hi everyone, I will be continuing project pan into this year with some pretty ambitious goals. I picked out 20 items that I want to completely use up by December 31st. You can check out my original project pan post here, along with my 2015 wrap up.

Here is my list with my revisions in pink. I made these revisions in an effort to use up products that I don't really use and move them out of my collection. (Please forgive my handwriting)

I also made a broader list of goals of the amount of each category I want to use up. I want to finish:

- 2 bronzers - 3 foundations - 1 blush - 1 lipstick - 3 eyeliners
- 2 face powders - 1 face primer - 2 eye primers - 3 concealers

I will be posting more frequent updates through my Instagram page, so be sure to check that out by clicking here or the button in the side bar.

I will keep you guys posted as often as possible. Will any of you be participating in project pan this year? If so, what are your goals? Let me know in the comments!

Have a wonderful day

Project Pan 2015 Roundup

Hey everyone, I know I am late to the round up considering that it is now February, but I figured better late than never. I didn't accomplish all of my goals, but, considering the fact that I started in about October/November area, I'd say I did pretty well. (You can check out my initial post here.) So, here we go:

Here is a picture of the overall products

1. Hit pan on the Walking on eggshells palette - Lid and Crease shades - Fail! While I did make a pretty good dip in these two shades, I sill have a ways to go.

2. Hit pan on Lorac 2 mini - Rosé. Nope, just a dip.

3. Hit pan on Maybelline Fit Me Powder - Did it ^_^ now to make as much progress as I can in the next two months. Dang! Look at that pan!

4. Finish Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation - DONE!!! Woop Woop! I absolutely love this foundation and I always tended to get complements on my skin when I wore this. I wan to use up some of the other foundations I own first, but I definitely plan to repurchase this foundation. It also has a pretty good shade range so I would really recommend this to everyone!

5. Finish Dream Smooth Mousse - Ha, yeah no....honestly I hardly touched this foundation because even though it is the lightest shade in the range, it is still a bit too dark for me right now. I plan to use it up over the summer. I really do enjoy it though.
Products that weren't completely finished, but for some reason forgot to take out the smashbox primer!

6. Finish Smasbox Photo Finish Primer - Really proud of myself for finishing this! I have maybe one or two uses left if I really try and get all thats left at the bottom but overall I am calling it done. I really like it and do have another mini sample size, but I am looking forward to trying other primers.

7. Hit pan on Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer - WOOOHOOO! This is the first bronzer I truly fell in love with. I am super fair so finding a bronzer that doesn't make me look orange or muddy is a mission. I definitely plan on saving up for the full size!

8. Finish Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie - Didn't totally finish it, but did make massive progress.

9. Finish Makeup Geek Creme Brûlée - Really close to finishing this, I had to repress it because of how far out to the edges it was getting. I am annoyed with myself for not taking a picture of it before I repressed it but oh well. I actually hit pan on the repress today.

10. Finish Makeup forever hd 117 - FINISHED!

11. Finish Neutrogena moisturizer - Finished! I really enjoyed this as a light everyday moisturizer. However, I want to give other ones a try and find something I really enjoy and can actually see benefits from, especially now that it is cold and my skin is even dryer than normal.
Products that I finished, plus my Maybelline concealer for some reason...lol
I am super excited to see the progress I can make in 2016. I have got some ambitious goals, keep a look out for that post!

Have a great day!

How to: DIY Z-Palette

I am a big fan of making your own palettes and a lot of brands sell eyeshadow pans in just pan form that can stick to a magnetic palette. However, Z-Palettes can get expensive when the start at $15 for a small one. Don't get me wrong, I love my Z-Palette, but before I could afford my first one, I found a DIY video on YouTube that taught me how to make my own.

What you need:
     - A Crayola or Roseart water paint palette
     - Magnet sheets with a sticky side
     - Optional: Fun duct tape

1. To start, you take out the plastic part holding the water paints and the brush. If you are using the Crayola version like I did you will need to break off the little plastic pieces that hold the brush as well as the piece that is used to hang the palette. This is a bit time consuming because you will have to sand it down flat enough to put the magnet sheet on smoothly.

2. Once you have a smooth and empty palette, trace the size of magnet you need and cut it out. IMPORTANT: before you peel of the backing to stick the magnet in, make sure it fits inside easily. You will have to trim the sides a bit because you used the bottom as a stencil.

3. Peel off the backing and place the magnet sheet in. Don't forget to smooth out any air bubbles and make it as stuck on as possible. Press down on the sheet until you feel it is done. (I have a line because I wound up having to use magnet square pieces instead of the roll.)

4. This part is optional, but I had some minion duct tape and decided to make my palette a bit more fun by putting the tape over the magnet. And Nixx decided to cuddle the palette as I was taking photos.

And you are done! My palette is currently housing the majority of my Makeup Geek Foiled shadows as well as some of my brighter colors (like Mac's Rule) and misc shadows.

Overall the process took me about 45 minutes to make, I had a lot of fun, and I have extra magnets left over if I want to make another one.

Good luck!

Pale Princess Makeup Tips

Hey guys, here are some tips I have compiled for those of you who, like me, much resemble Snow White in complexion. I plan on doing a post on my favorite makeup products for fair skin in the future, but for now here are five tips to keep in mind.

Disney Princess Snow White Cinderella Aurora and Belle

1. Make sure it matches! This is basic makeup 101; however, with extremely fair skin it is very easy to tell if your foundation doesn’t work for you. I can’t tell you guys how many times I have blended my foundation down my neck, it looked fine, then walked outside and looked like I had a wave of orange. Err on the side of going lighter and avoid foundations that oxidize.

2. Add some color back. I have been learning that it is very easy for pale girls to look washed out, ghostly or sickly. Looking dead is the last thing we want.

3. Concealer lips = no-no! I know girls love their nude lipsticks and I am no exception. However, especially with pale girls you want to avoid going too light because it will wash you out and make you look sick. Go for a “your lips but better” shade instead.

4. Careful not to go overboard. Ok, so when your face is naturally almost as white as a clown’s, it can be easy to add too much and look like you just got done working a kids party. Once again, I learned this the hard way. Find the happy medium with your makeup application. And this isn’t saying you can’t go dramatic, because if you can do it, rock it.

5. Don’t forget your brows. This is my weakness because brows are often the last things I remember. But, when you are fair, and especially if you have light brow hair, you will want to fill them in to frame your face and it can look weird if you don’t.

Hope these tips helped, and I have learned these all from my own trial and error and looking like a goof. Although, at the end of the day it’s just makeup, it washes off. So enjoy and have fun with it!

College Makeup Essentials

Source

When it comes to college, whether or not you live in a dorm, space and money are precious assets that should be used wisely. So, when starting a new semester, you really don’t want to blow all your money on new makeup or bring your entire collection to school. Here are a couple essential items that you should invest in and should definitely find their way into your suitcase/makeup bag.

1. A basic, versatile eye shadow palette
     - Aim for something that has light, medium and darker shadows that you could use every day. I like the Coastal Scents Revealed Palettes, the NYX Natural palette and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palettes. L'Oreal and NYX have some really good palettes for a cheaper price.

2. Face Primer & Eye Primer
     - If you are like me and on the go from the moment you wake up until you get home, you want something to help your makeup stay on all day.
     - ELF and Milani have incredible eye primers that are comparable to Urban Decay and Too Faced.
     - For face primers I would recommend L’Oreal or Maybelline.

3. Reliable concealer.
     - This is an absolute must! Especially when you are in college and stress and lack of sleep become everyday things.
     - I like the Maybelline Fit Me or Instant Age Rewind as well as the NYX concealers.

4. Mascara.
     - Well um, of course. Mascara helps open up your eyes and make you look just that much more awake. The drugstore has some amazing mascara’s and this is one item I really don’t think you need to spend a lot of money on.
     - My favorites are Maybelline’s Pillow Plush and Cover Girl’s Outlast (an oldie but a goodie!)

5. Foundation and/or tinted moisturizer.
     - This one is based on personal preference, skin type, how much coverage you want. Personally, I like to have both on hand so I can have a choice of what I want on my face that day, plus, tinted moisturizers or BB creams make decent primers/bases.
     - When it comes to foundation I have come to like the Maybelline Fit Me (can tell I like this line?), Revlon Color Stay (awesome because it has a formula for normal to oily or normal to dry), or Cover Girl 3 in 1. On the high end side, I love Cover FX, Kat Von D and Smashbox HD.
     - BB’s/CC’s/Tinted Moisturizers have boomed lately. Maybelline, Physician’s Formula, L’Oreal are all amazing, and high end brands like Cover FX, Laura Mercier and Stila all have amazing ones.

6. Nude Eyeliner.
     - This is a life hack I use on a daily basis. Replace the black eyeliner on your waterline with a nude pencil and it will instantly make you look more awake and alert! Especially amazing for when you have to be at work early in the morning or have a 7 or 8am class!
     - Rimmel has the best nude eyeliner I have ever used, and it is waterproof!

7. Everyday blush
     - For this you want to try and find something non-shimmery. You want to aim for something that is just going to give you a nice healthy glow.

8. Bronzer.
     - Aim for something that is matte. I prefer matte bronzers because you can contour with them, or just use it to add some warmth to your face.
     - Absolute best two bronzers I can recommend are NYC’s Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny (THIS THING IS ONLY $2 AND AMAZING!) and Benefit’s Hoolah. If you haven’t heard about these two I think you may have been living under a rock! Another good one I would recommend from the drugstore is the Rimmel Natural Bronze bronzer in Sun Bronze. (That’s a lot of bronze…)

9. Powder.
     - Even if you don’t use powder all over your face, you should definitely use it to set your concealer, particularly under your eyes, otherwise it can just slip and slide off. This really helps hold your makeup in place.
     - For me, powder is powder, especially if you are going translucent powder. But the ones I like the most that I have tried are Maybelline Fit Me powder or L'Oreal TruMatch and Physician’s Formula have good powders

10. Lip Stuff!
     - I say “stuff” because I feel like this category can change like the wind. I would definitely recommend having one or two lip products that you love and are your “go-to”.
     - For me, my “Go-To” lip products are the Revlon Velvet Rose, Maybelline Color Sensational in Summer Sunset and Peachy Scene, and Wet N’ Wild Bare it All. (My daily lip liner is Maybelline Lip Pencil in 25 Toast).

Additional: I love the Elf Mist and Set for setting my makeup and it is only $3!

Hope this helped :)

"30 Day"/30 Questions Makeup Challenge Part 3

Once again, totally forgot about the existence of this. Here is the final part, and here are links to part 1 and part 2.

Question #21: Where do you purchase your makeup?

- Um, all over the place. For drugstore, CVS, Walgreens and Ulta are the best. I do also love Sephora and will occasionally venture to my MAC counter. I don’t really buy a lot of makeup online but I will occasionally because I love Makeup Geek, Coastal Scents, ColourPop and Morphe Brushes (at the moment the store is only about 30 min away so that is cool!)

Question #22: Favorite toner.

- I loved my Clean and Clear cooling toner, but they sadly discontinued it. My new favorite is the Dickenson’s All-Natural Witch Hazel Toner. Thanks you AlisonLovesJB for your recommendation!

Question #23: Favorite eyshadow palette and blush palette.

- Blush Palette: I only really own one full blush palette, and that is the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes palette from the holiday collection. I love it because I had wanted to try Benefit blushes for a long time and this gave me that chance without spending an insane amount.

- Eyeshadow Palette: That is really difficult…this might be cheating but the one I use the most is my custom Z-palette that I put together. I use it the most because it has all the shadows I use on a daily basis in one spot. When it comes to premade palettes I think my favorite right now is my Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar.

Question #24: Which do you prefer: cream, liquid, matte, powder, sheer or shimmer eyeshadows?

- Um I don’t think I have ever used a liquid eyeshadow. I like creams for eyeshadow bases, and even though I love adding a pop of shimmer, I think overall I prefer matte eyeshadows.

Question #25: Favorite eyeliner.

- I love the Elizabeth Mott You’re So Fine and Jessie’s Girl liquid eyeliners. They make my life so much easier when it comes to doing eyeliner, especially in a hurry. (I am still trying to get the hang of cream/gel eyeliner. I own the ELF cream eyeliner and want to try the Maybelline Master Studio gel.)
Don’t have a favorite pencil liner...even though I have been using this the longest! Haha, but the one I have been using the longest is the Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in black.

Question #26: Do you wear makeup every day?

- Nope! I usually wear makeup Mon-Fri for work and school. Some days all I do is mix a pump of foundation in with my moisturized to add a bit of coverage and throw on mascara. But on days that I’m not going anywhere or just don’t care I do not bother putting in the effort.

Question #27: Favorite powder.

- I haven’t tried a bunch of powders, but at the moment I am loving the Maybelline Matte and Poreless powder.

Question #28: Favorite makeup remover.

- Like so many others, I love my Neutrogena wipes! But I am also looking to test out others. If you have any recommendations let me know in the comments please ☺

Question #29: Do you wear liquid eyeliner? (If so, what is your favorite?)

- See question #25.

Question #30: Photo of yourself with and without makeup.
Here is a picture from my before step brother's prom being a goof with him. No makeup.
And here is me after getting a makeup lesson at Mac.

What's in my Z-Palette

Personally, I like looking at pictures on Instagram and Pinterest of what eyeshadows people have in their everyday palette. I feel like it is good reference for when I look for new shadows to see what overlaps, or which shadows people have hit pan on, and they might be good ones to try.

So here is my everyday palette in the rose gold chevron palette you can buy on Makeup Geek's website. I shortened Makeup Geek to MUG and Coastal Scents to C.S.

Hope you enjoy and happy Friday the 13th!

October Favorites

Can you guys believe it is November??? I am not really big on pumpkin spice, but I am so ready for "Mint-er"! Get it, mint and winter? Lol, anyhow, here is what I have been loving over the last month. I realized it isn't a lot but here ya go.

1. Manic Panic Dreamtone - This stuff is a heaven send. It is pure white liquid foundation that I can mix in with my other foundations to make them light enough for me because of how pale I am. Love it!

2. Elizabeth Mott Queen of the Fill - I got this brow gel in one of my Ipsy bags and I really enjoy it. I'm typically pretty lazy when it comes to my brows and this is perfect for that because it fills them in and makes them look fuller. It is pretty liquidy but dries fairly quickly.

3. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. I have quite a few sample sizes of this mascara and I like how lengthening and long lasting it is.

4. Glamglow Thirsty Mud. I have a little Sephora sample of this stuff and it is wonderful. I have dry skin and this helps so much. I will use this as my night time moisturizer and my skin feels more hydrated when I wake up.

5. Mac Wedge. When I want to go more natural on my brows I use this eyeshadow. It is perfect for my hair color and lasts all day on me. I also use it as a cooler toned crease color.

6. MUG Rapunzel. This is a soft white shimmery shade that I use either all over the lid or as a highlight color. It is so brightening and beautiful and helps me look awake.

Let me know what you guys have been loving this past month.

Project 10 Pan: My Goals and Progress

So when you are like me and collect makeup, as your collection grows you forget to use some things. A few months ago I found two hastags on Instagram #panthatpalette and #project10pan, and they really inspired me to really focus on using what I have already in my collection.

The point behind project 10 pan is to use up 10 items in your collection before the end of the year. Here is my list of 10 items and I specified whether my goal is to completely finish the product, or just hit pan on it because realistically there are some items I know there are no way I can finish in the remaining two months, but I am going to make as much progress as I can.

Clockwise from the top: Maybelline Fit Me, Lorac Mini Pro, Walking on Eggshells, Peach Smoothie, Creme Brûlée, and Milk Chocolate Soleil.
Smashbox Primer, Covergirl 3 in 1, Neutrogena Sensitive Moisturizer, Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse
1. Hit pan on the Walking on eggshells palette - Lid and Crease shades
2. Hit pan on Lorac 2 mini - Rosé
3. Hit pan on Maybelline Fit Me Powder - Did it ^_^ now to make as much progress as I can in the next two months.
4. Finish Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation
5. Finish Dream Smooth Mousse
6. Finish Smasbox Photo Finish Primer
7. Hit pan on Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
8. Finish Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie
9. Finish Makeup Geek Creme Brûlée
10. Finish Makeup forever hd 117 - FINISHED!
11. Finish Neutrogena moisturizer
Hope this inspired you guys to make progress on items in your collection. I plan on posting an update towards the end of November, and at the end of the year.

Sending hugs from my computer to yours,

Lustables Vol. 4

Hey guys, it is holiday palette season! So I thought I would share with you guys some of the holiday sets I have my eyes on for this year.

Urban Decay Vice 4 - Just look at this gorgeous thing! My boyfriend bought me the Vice 3 palette for Christmas last year, so this year I asked him to get the Vice 4 for me :)

Becca Afterglow Palette - Really wanting this palette mostly because I have been wanting to try the two blushes in Wild Honey and Flower Child for quite some time and this way I can try them out along with getting three other products for just a little bit more than buying one of the blushes.

The Balm In the Balm of Your Hand Palette - This is another one that is just an incredible deal. I already own the full size Hot Mama blush but I have been wanting to try the other two blushes, the eyeshadows look gorgeous, and it is fantastic for travel. Amazing bang for your buck!

Tarte Greatest Glitz Collector's Set - I really like how this is broken down into three separate palettes with well thought out color schemes for each. I don't have a lot of rose gold or silver-y shades and I like that those are two of the palettes.

Some other items I have on my radar are: the Bare Minerals Jumbo Mineral Veil (the packaging is so fancy!), the Lorac Mega Pro 2, the Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Trio.

Let me know what you guys are looking at picking up for the holidays! Have a wonderful day,
<3 Kimmie

September Favorites

Hey guys, can you believe it is already October? This year is absolutely flying by, and I don't know about you guys but I am super excited for Halloween. Here are the things I have been loving over this past month:

Makeup favorites:
- Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation. Right now this is the only foundation that has been working for me color wise and it hasn't been drying on my skin (which is freaking out right now.) Its good medium to full coverage that lasts well on me. Plus it is on my list of 10 things I am trying to use up by the end of the year. Post coming soon.
- Wet-N-Wild Walking on Eggshells trio. Wonderful every day eyeshadows from the drugstore. Also on my list to use up this has been my everyday go-to for just a simple eye look that I don't have to think about.
- Too Faced Sweetheart blush in Peach Beach. This blush has been my absolute go-to over September. It is beautiful, not too overpowering on my skin tone, and it has a nice sheen and highlight factor so I have been skipping highlight with this. It just gives the most beautiful glow! This is a must have for fair skin!
- Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Peachy Scene. I'm not really big on pinky colors when it comes to lipstick but this is a really wonderful every day lipstick. It is a nice peachy pink that isn't too crazy. Have been using this thing to death this month.

Book Favorite:

- Isle of Lies by Donna Fletcher. I absolutely love this book, and being me, it is a romance novel. I recently rediscovered this book when I was moving and decided to reread it this month and fell in love with it all over again. This book is a historical romance set in Scotland, which is a large part of my heritage and makes me love it all the more. Here is the Goodreads page so you can check it out. Also, the sequel is wonderful too.

*Due to the amount of crud that went down this summer I wasn't able to get through much of my summer reading list and will be extending these goals through the end of the year*

Music Favorites:
- Good for You - Selena Gomez
- Basshunter
- The Phoenix - Fall Out Boy

What are some things you guys have been loving this month? Let me know in the comments.

"30 Day"/30 Questions Makeup Challenge Part 2

Hey Guys, back for part 2 of my "30 Day"/30 Questions Makeup Challenge. To be perfectly honest I had forgotten about this for a while but I am back in action. As always, feel free to comment below and I hope you enjoy!

Question #11: Do you like wearing bronzer? (If yes, what brand?)

- Yup. NYC Sunny, Rimmel Natural Bronze, and Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. I haven’t tried too many bronzers because on really pale skin it can look really muddy, really fast. If you have pale skin, let me know what bronzers work for you.

Question #12: Favorite Mascara?

- My favorites are Maybelline The Mega Plush, Avon SuperShock Max, CK One Color mascara, Tare Lights Camera Lashes. To be honest, when it comes to mascara I think you can find amazing ones in the drugstore and you don't need to spend a lot on a mascara that is only going to last you 3-4 months.

Question #13: Where do you keep your makeup?

- I keep all my makeup in one of the plastic drawer sets from Target, I do want to upgrade eventually though. I have pictures in part one.

Question #14: Favorite Youtube guru(s)?

- Saaamage, Jaclyn Hill, Thataylaa, Kandee Johnson, AlisonLovesJB, KathleenLights and of course, Michelle Phan (to be honest I prefer her older stuff.)

Question #15: Do you wear blush?

- Sometimes, but it isn’t really a staple for me. Some of my favorites are: NYX Blushing Rose, Wet n’ Wild Pearlescent Pink, Benefit Dandelion and Rockatour.

Question #16: Do you copy any celebrity’s make-up?

- Not really. I, like many others, did fall into the Kylie Jenner lipstick trend but I just flat out love nude lipstick. If I do copy a celebrities makeup, it is me trying to recreate a YouTube tutorial.

Question #17: Favorite makeup artist.

- Don’t really have one because I am not familiar with any makeup artists outside YouTube.

Question #18: Favorite night time look?

- This one right here! Love it so much!!! I wore this on a couple dates with my boyfriend and I always get compliments! If you want to simplify it a bit just use a brown creme base like Maybelline Color Tattoo, Mac Paint Pot in Groundwork, or Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Dark Brown, then just use a matte brown to blend it out and proceed to apply the pigment.

Question #19: Favorite concealer.

- Mac Pro-longwear concealer recently came into my life and changed the entire game! It is godly! Haha, but I also love my Maybelline FitMe and the Maybelline Dream Lumi pen in the color “Radiant” for covering my dark circles and brightening my under eye area (FYI, this is a pretty awesome dupe for the Mac Prep and Prime pen in Radiant Rose!)

Question #20: Favorite eyeshadow primer.

- I haven’t tried too many eyeshadow primers, at the moment I am using a sample size of the Too Faced shadow insurance and I have been using the ELF eye primer in “Sheer” it is absolutely amazing and only $1!

Lustables Vol. 3

Welcome back for Volume 3 of "Lustables" as we delve back into my makeup wish list!

Too Faced Individual Shadows in Petals to the Metal, Cop a Teal and Poison Orchid. Such pretty colors and I just really like the formulation and feel of Too Faced eye shadows, I think these would be really fun for a pop of color and I would love to add these to my collection. Swatches of Poison Orchid and Petals to the Metal here and Cop a Teal here.

Mac Mineralized Skin Finish in Lightscapade. AHHHH this is so pretty! I cant even begin to describe how gorgeous this is! It just makes the skin look so luminous and amazing, it makes me think fairy or mermaid for some reason. In my opinion it can make the skin look ethereal and just beautiful! It is what this girl is wearing:

Becca Mineral Blushes. These blushes are so absolutely beautiful. They aren't sparkly or shimmery but they have the most beautiful sheen to them. These were made wildly popular (and constantly unavailable) by YouTuber Jaclyn Hill. The colors she mentions as her favorites are Wild Honey (peachy nude), Sweet Pea (rosy plum nude) and Flowerchild (peachy pink, gold highlights).

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. This palette is so beautiful and I have heard so many good things about it. Every time I go into Sephora I walk past this, look at it swatch it and just oogle over it but then I look at the price tag and reminded of why I don't just grab it, put it in my bag and walk up to the cashiers. But one day, I will have you!

Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette. These eyeshadow palettes are brand new from Hourglass and they are so beautiful! The pigmentation is spectacular and formulation is that which you would expect from Hourglass, creamy and bendable and definitely oogle worthy! But once again, the price tag makes me sad and I will continue dreaming of these until I have the guts (and the funds).

What are some of the items on your 2015 makeup wish list? If you have these products, what are your thoughts on them? Hope you enjoyed and good luck,

My First Coastal Scents Order and UD Naked Palettes Dupes

Hey everyone,

Was super excited when I got home from work today to discover the spoils of Black Friday online shopping had finally arrived.

Ordered the two Revealed Palettes, a blending brush and two single shadows or "Hot Pots."

The two Revealed palettes I have been wanting to pick up for quite some time as I have heard a lot of people say that they are dupes for the three Urban Decay Naked palettes. You can check out several blog posts about this here, here and here. I really like these palettes and have been using them literally every day since I got them a about a week ago. There are some shades that are a bit chunky or powdery, but overall the shadows are very bendable and I like the texture and overall feel of them. Normally these palettes retail for $19.95 each.

So far I am really loving the hot pots, I bought mine in Flesh Tone which is described as "a neutral pale, beige hue with a golden shimmer finish", and Dark Chocolate which is a "warm, deep taupe hue with a satin finish." They are super creamy and bendable and I think that they are just absolutely incredible quality for the price. These individual shadows are only $1.95 each at full price, I got them on sale for 50% off so they came out to 97 cents each. They are very comparable to Mac or Makeup Geek eyeshadows. Certainly worth trying.

Both the individual shadows and palettes have pretty decent lasting power on there own and longer when paired with a primer. The longest I have worn these were for 12 hours, maybe longer, and they held up to the challenge of my long and busy days.

Finally, I picked up the Pro Fluff Blending Brush because it looked vary comparable to the Mac 217 and I figured I would give it a try. Full price is $4.95. It works really well to blend my transition or crease shade and it doesn't make my shadows patchy or anything. It is made from goat hair so if that is a problem for you, letting you know. The hairs are a bit scratchy but I used a bit of conditioner on the brush and it didn't scratch any more.

Keep in mind that Coastal Scents do have sales fairly often so if you are looking to try something there is a high chance you can get it for cheaper.

So overall I am loving the results of this order. I hope you got some useful information or tips out of this review and talk to you later.

"30 Day"/30 Questions Makeup Challenge Part 1

Hey everyone, so I thought this would be fun to do a bit of a challenge post. I found the picture below and it says it is a 30 day challenge but I am just gonna answer the questions here in this post. Hope you enjoy.

Question #1: When did you start wearing makeup?
- I think I started wearing makeup when I was 14 and it really wasn't too often or very much (haha oh that black eyeliner!) Mostly for formal events for Jobies and for holidays.

Question #2: How did you learn to put on makeup?
- At first it was just a lot of trial and error and watching my cousin, but then, I discovered YouTube! The first people I watched on YouTube were Kandee Johnson, Michelle Phan and MakeUp Medic (who sadly doesn't do YouTube anymore).

Question #3: Favorite Brand?
- I don't have too much of a favorite brand to be honest as I am still trying to branch out and try more brands and makeup. Drugstore, the one I own the most of is Maybelline and I really do love them so I guess they would be my favorite. High end, as I said I am still trying to branch out and so far I only own a few things my Mac, BareMinerals, TooFaced and Tarte. Haven't picked a favorite yet.

Question #4: Do you like wearing foundation?
- Actually yes, at the minimum a BB or tinted moisturizer. This is mostly because I do have uneven skin tone and acne so I like wearing foundation to even everything out.

Question #5: Favorite lipstick, lipgloss and lip liner.
- I hardly ever wear lipgloss but I really like Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Evelyn. Lipstick would have to be a tie between my Kat VondD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw and Wet n Wild Bare it All. Lip liner: I LOVE my Maybelline lip liner in Toast (it goes with Bare it All and so much else.) For a darker color I love Jordana's Cabernet (great dupe for Mac's Nightmoth).

Question #6: Do you wear false eyelashes? (Strip or Individual?)
- Just bought my first pair not too long ago for halloween. Still honestly trying to figure out false lashes but I haven't tried individuals yet.

Question #7: Favorite eyeshadow color?
- I am a huge fan of neutrals. Nuf' said.

Question #8: Favorite daytime look?
- Honestly when I am lazy I just do concealer over my lids and pop a neutral transition shade in my crease, run some nude eyeliner in my waterline, through on eyeliner and mascara (maybe blush and bronzer if I have an extra minute) and I am good.

Recently my favorite look has been using the bareMinerals "The Magic Act" holiday palette. I take the shade Celebrate and put it all over my lid, then use A-Ha in my outer v and crease with a bit of Foreshadow to darken it up and put Foreshadow along my lower lash line. I also use the blush Close Call to contour with The Indecent Proposal on the apples of my cheeks.

Question #9: Picture of your makeup collection.
- I recently reorganized it so here for your viewing pleasure:
So this is where it all hides

Top drawer is mostly face stuff or stuff I use on a daily basis.
Lip stuff and eye stuff with my DIY Z-Palette
Where I have been stashing my friends christmas presents and misc stuff
More misc
And my brushes and larger sets.

Question #10: Favorite makeup brush?
- I would have to say it is a toss up between three. My Real Techniques Buffing Brush, my Real Techniques Contour Brush and my Crown double-sided brush that I received in my ipsy bag.

If you are reading this please let me know if you liked it and I will post answers to the next 10 questions soon!

Holiday Makeup Haul

Pretty excited because this year was the first time I had money to really spend around the holidays and splurged on getting myself some of the holiday collections. This was over a couple weeks of collecting stuff. Enjoy :)

Tarte Bon Voyage kit from Sephora. You get 20 eyeshadows, a full sized lip gloss, full sized lip stain, a sample of Lights Camera Lashes mascara, a sample size limited edition cheek stain, sample marajuca oil and sample of the finishing powder. The shadows have good color payoff and are smooth. Haven't tried much else yet out of the set though. Full review on Temptalia here.

This is the Too Faced Everything Nice palette and I have been loving it. Occasionally the shadows blend weird but I love the color variety and it comes with the Chocolate Soleil bronzer which I have been loving along with the Papa Don't Peach blush. Full palette review on Temptalia here

Too Faced La Belle Carousel. This one the packaging is just so ridiculously cute. I love how you have seperate little sections that you could take on the run. You get three eyeshadow quads, two blush/bronzer duos and a sample of the Better than Sex mascara. Check out Temptalia's review here.

bareMinerals The Magic Act Palette. Can't express how much I have been loving this palette, I have pretty much been using it every day since I got it and it has been spending a lot of quality time in my purse lol. I talk about one of my favorite looks with this palette here. And Temptalia does a full review here.

bareMinerals READY Convertible Eye Shadow Palette 2014. This palette is pretty fun because you can move shadows around and take out the little section and throw it in your purse. Karen from Makeup and Beauty blog does a review here.

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot. This one I was pretty excited for because I don't own any of the Benefit Box o Powders and in this palette you get Dandelion, Bella Bamba, Sugar Bomb, Rockateur, Coralista, Hoolah and a sample of Watts Up highlighter. Full review here.

Mac Holiday Keepsakes Plum Eye bag. This bag was actually a gift from my sister because I was obsessing over the eyeshadow duo and the lighter shade "Triple Impact" in particular. It is the most beautiful eyeshadow I think I have ever seen. It is a described as "Opalescent Pink" but it also has shades of purple and blue and it is just so incredibly beautiful. See swatches here.

Hope you enjoyed my first ever haul post. Hugs from my computer to your,

Lustables Pt. 2

Hey all my fellow makeupgeeks out there. I am back to do a part 2 to my Lustables post inspired by BlushableMe. You guys should check her out.

So once again we are delving into my ever-expanding makeup wishlist, which seems to only be growing longer with the release of the Christmas/Holiday collections. I feel like Ash, gotta catchem' all!

This is the Tarte Away Oui Go set. I asked for it for Christmas and I am really hoping I get it because it is all sold out on Ulta's website :'(

Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette. I currently don't own anything from Nars and I think this would be a fun way to start because you get four blushes and their cult favorite bronzer Laguna Bronzer.

Kat Von D Monarch and Chrysalis Palettes. They both have beautiful artwork on the cover and the shadows are creamy and pigmented.
Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows. These are the latest collection to come out from Makeup Geek. Marlena does a full video on these that you can see here.
I love Tarte's Park Avenue Princess bronzer and the formulation of their blushes. You get a full sized Park Avenue Princess bronzer and an Amazonian clay blush in Posh and a highlighter in Champagne Gold.

Hugs from my computer to yours

Autumn 2014 Tag!

Hello, interwebbies! I hope you are all doing well, I have a new type of post I haven't done before! I was tagged by the awesome Blushable Me to do the Autumn Tag 2014, so here we go:

1) Ok we’re talking coffee- what’s your favorite seasonal drink from Starbucks or another coffee shop?

In all honesty, I really don't like coffee, I drink Mocha Frappachinos and that is about it for coffee, mostly tea. The thing I love around this time of year is Peppermint Hot Chocolate :)

2) Accessories- What do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?

One of the things I am definitely on the hunt for this year is a good pair of riding boots! I have always loved wearing knee high boots over skinny jeans with an oversized sweater.
(If leaves were like this where I live this would so be me! Everything else will still be me in fall though...)

3) Music – what’s your favorite music to listen to during Autumn?

Um, I don't really know if I listen to music seasonally. I listen to a very wide variety of music. Recently I have been listening to more musicals and music from old and old-ish Disney movies. (My old-ish I mean like Camp Rock and all those from when I was watching Disney channel.)

4) Perfume – what’s your favorite scent for this time of year?

I fell in love with Givenchy's So Irresistible perfume and I also love Avon's Secrets to Keep Kiss.

5) Candles – what scents will you be burning this season?

I don't own very many candles at the moment, but I love the Yankee Candles Cinnamon Rolls candle and I also like any of the candles that smell like the outdoors, the pinecone or tree smelling ones (reminds me of Christmas Trees).

6) What do you love most about Autumn?
I love wearing boots and sweaters, like I said above, and being able to get away with wearing it every day! I also just love the atmosphere of this time of year. The air becomes crisp, the trees change (very small change in So Cal =_=) and you can find me in leggings, fuzzy socks and a hoody curled up with a book. But overall, I love spending the holidays with my family. It is the one time of year we get to all be together. And of course, hilarity ensues!

7) Favorite makeup?
I love being able to let out my darker side in fall.
Here’s some of my favorite makeup for fall:

Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette
Wet n' Wild Sugar Plum Fairy lipstick
Darker reds and purples and I also love darker brown/mauve nudes
Benefit Rockatour
Maybelline Make a Mauve

In love with these looks:

8) What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
I am most excited to just spend time with my family. I am also really excited because we will be having a dog at Christmas for the first time in years! (My grandpa is legally blind and just got a service dog)

I tag:
Tamzen Temple
The Mile Long Bookshelf
Kandee Johnson
Hope the Happy Hugger
