Where Was I on September 11th, 2000

In all honesty, I really don't remember most of the details of where I was because I was only six at the time.

So here are the few details that I do remember:
I remember my mom and dad watching the story on the news before they went to work and dropped me and my sister school.

I remember is being at school and sitting in class. I remember the principle coming in over the intercom and saying the towers had fallen and we needed to have a moment of silence. (I think we watched President Bush's address.)

I remember that my mom had to work that whole weekend because she works at a travel company and had to reroute flights and tours.

I remember my mom and dad calling our east coast family, even though they were in Kentucky and Florida, we still wanted to know they were ok and talk to them about the tragety.

I remember not really understanding what had happend, I just remember knowing that it was bad and that it was a sad day.
It is hard to believe that it has been 13 years since that dreadful day. (Also hard to believe that I am 19! But that is digressing). I know that so many people's lives were forever changed by that day and that it is a day we will never forget. It has shaped the way our country, and others involved, to this day. I hope some day the war that started that day will come to an end, but I don't know when that will be.

If I Could Fall in Love with 5 Fictional (Animated) Characters

Hey everyone, so I decided to make this 2nd half to this prompt because I figured it would be easier to separate by live action vs. animate. Plus I will be posting about one of the characters I forgot to add in the last post and who I think is my favorite out of all of the ones I have talked about. So lets get started! (these aren't in any order)

P.s. a really awesome post that relates to this: click me.

1. Hiei - Yu Yu Hakusho. Sailor Moon, Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho were my favorite anime's growing up. My favorite character from Yu Yu Hakusho was always Hiei. Like I said in my last post, I have always had a weekness for the "misunderstood, bad boy" archetype. However, even though Hiei's character starts out as the heartless demon who only cares about himself, he truly grows to care about his friends and become a loyal friend.

2. Jim Hawkins - Treasure Planet. Oh Jim, I love you! I have loved this movie ever since I first saw it. I guess I just really connected with Jim and how he felt along and the need to find where he belonged. Jim is awesome in general, but he even saves the villain of the movie because he knows what it feels like to chase after your dreams. He is caring In the words of Ben the Robot, "I just wanna hug ya, and squeeze ya and hold ya close to me!"

3. Tuxedo Mask - Sailor Moon. Ok, lets face the facts: pretty much every girl who ever watched Sailor Moon, at one point or another, crushed on Tuxedo Mask. As Darien he was kind of a butthead but, as Tuxedo Mask, he was always there for the scouts when they needed him. As the episodes rolled on he opened up more and became closer with Serena and all the scouts. Plus....he just runs away with your heart.....oh childhood memories

4. Prince Zuko - Avatar the Last Air Bender. Again with my theme, I love Zuko because he was never truly evil. He just had a lot of daddy issues and he was basically desperate to be accepted. Zuko was such a crucial character to the story line, he just brings so much more dimension to an anime character than is usually expected. Plus he is voiced by Dante Basco, aka Rufio from Hook, another childhood crush.

5. Inuyasha. I fell in love with this series when I first started watching it and I have always loved the main character of Inuyasha. Much like Zuko, Inuyasha fights to be accepted because he is a half-demon and he faces the constant need to prove himself. He is overly aggressive and edgy when we first meet him, but underneath it all he is really kind of quirky and sweet. Over the series he learns to accept what he is and that he is fine just how he is.

One question....WHY THE HECK TO ANIMATED CHARACTERS, DRAWINGS, HAVE TO BE SO HOT!!?!?!?!?!? Lol the hardest part was narrowing down the list to 5. I thought of

And finally, the character I have fallen in love with, hands down.......*drumroll please*
Spencer Reid - Criminal Minds.
Gah, I have loved Spencer since the very first episode I ever saw of Criminal Minds. He is so real and caring and truly an amazing friend and person. I have loved watching his character grow over the seasons and seeing him come out of his shell. Plus, he is gorgeous and, as the picture states, I have a very difficult time dealing with the face that Spencer is fictional....or that Matthew Grey Gubler will never know I exist....*heave longing sigh*

If No One Read My Blog...

Wanted to do a short little post from the prompt "If no one ever read your blog would you continue to post? Why or why not?"

If no one ever read my blog I feel like I would still keep writing it. I wrote this blog for a long time before I had any real significant traffic and I imagine that I would keep writing even if my traffic were to dip again.

This blog is more than just a blog to me; it is an emotional and personal outlet. I can write whatever is on my mind or I can be random and goofy. Plus, I like to imagine that anyone who does read my blog, by just being myself, I can bring them a little piece of joy if it is a smile, a chuckle or whatever.

For those of you out there who do read my blog or just stumble across it, I hope you enjoy what I have put up here and I hope that in some small way maybe I make your day a little bit brighter.

Hugs from my computer to yours! <3 Kimmie

If I Could Fall in Love with... 5 Fictional Characters

In a fantasy world, forget about spouses and loves, if you could fall in love with a movie or TV character, name 5 you would choose. Not the actors but the movie characters.

Ok, so I know this prompt says movie characters but, since we are forgoing reality, I'm going to include anime characters as well :) This is probably going to be really difficult to narrow down to five but here I go!

1. Patrick Verona - 10 Things I Hate About You. Let's get something straight, I just flat out love everything that is Heath Ledger! Also, this has been one of my favorite movies since I was young(er). I think Patrick someone ruined my expectations for real-life relationships, come on, why can't a guy woo me with "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You"? Hearing him singing is enough to do me in. Oh Pat, why can't you be real?!?!?!

2. Westley - Princess Bride. I have loved the movie Princess Bride for longer than I can remember, my mom used to play the movie for my sister and I when we were little. I feel like this movie and the relationship between Westley and Buttercup sets the bar for relationships and love really high, it just shows you this beautiful romance that as kids we dream about one day having. Westley is so selfless and is willing to risk his life for his love. *tears up* I'll love you Westley!!!

3. Murphy MacManus - The Boondock Saints. I honestly fell in love with this movie after I watched and I don't know why but I really liked the character of Murphy. So I just thought I would add him on this list because after I watched the movie I went to Fanfiction.net and decided to search for Murphy fanfics.

4. James "Bucky" Barns/Winter Soldier - Captain America. After watching Captain America: The First Avenger, I really liked Bucky's character and I just thought he was an awesome and loyal best friend to Cap. I was so sad when I thought he died. But with is shocking return as the Winter Soldier for some reason, my brain was like "hello Mr. Barns" lol I think he looks good with the long hair, plus Sebastian Stan is gorgeous. Period.

5. Eric Northman - True Blood. Ok so he has got that whole hot vampire thing going on and lets be honest, Alexander Skarsgard is just flat out shmexy! (I mean dear god look at that chest! Somebody grab a block of cheese!!! LOL) He is pretty much the only reason I binge watched the first 3 seasons. (Have yet to continue the next watching the next 4.) But dang, I don't know what it is about me but I have a weak spot for that "mysterious bad boy" archetype and Eric Northman pulls it off amazingly with his cool confidence and the fact that he just exudes power. As far as I'm concerned, Sookie can have Bill, I will gladly take Eric haha!

Peace out!

WPC: Max

Hey guys, since I already covered all the pets I own, I wanted to show you some of the pets my "somewhat-step mom" has...

This is Max, he is some kind of pitbull and he is fairly young, I think only about a year. For a while he was blind because of the way his eye lids developed the lashes would scratch his eyes if he opened them (don't know all the details). But they got it fixed and he is a happy loving dog and when I was up visiting my dad and Des for Thanksgiving I woke up to Max in my bed. It was pretty fun.

Have a good week <3 Kimmie

Who I Was in High School

Idea Bank prompt #117: In high school I was…

Now that I am out of high school I can actually write “when I was in high school” posts. Even just saying it in my everyday life is so strange. I think it is because high school is such a huge part of your life for so long that once it ends it is strange because you have to switch gears and life goes on.

During my four years of high school I was a drama geek, a loner, the over achiever, the teacher’s pet and I like to think, a good friend.

In high school I was never really one of the popular crowd or anything like that. During freshman and sophomore year I had “my crowd” that I loved and would spend mornings and lunches with. Most of us were in the drama club together and I feel like that brought us even closer. We preformed a spoof on Twilight our first year and honestly that was my favorite year of high school. It was hilarious and we were goof balls and so many other things that I treasure happened during that year.
During those years I was also a very big over achiever, doing my best to get good grades in all my classes. I also made friends with several of my teachers. I loved my tenth grade core teachers and so many others through my years. It was really nice being able to just talk and joke with your teachers and break that “professor” mold where a teacher is supposed to be distant.

Also, during my senior year I became somewhat of a loner. I drifted away from many of my friends because of how busy I was with AP Physics and my internships. I felt really alone and like I had been left behind by a lot of my friends. I guess it was both our faults, I didn’t fight to stay a part of the group and they didn’t try to keep me. It really sucks thinking about it. During senior year I didn’t really have a set group of friends. I was really close with two groups during first semester then it just kind of fell apart during second. I realize now it had to do with a lot of factors and in some ways I am trying to reconnect with some of those people and rebuild a stronger friendship with others.

It is true what they say about learning a lot during high school. But know I don’t think that they were talking about Pythagorean Theorem, the key points of Frankenstein or really most of the academics. For me, what I got out of high school was learning to survive in the world. You learn how to survive and overcome various challenges put before you.

High school is just the first step on a long road of learning and growing in life. I held so many different titles during high school but in some way, each and every one of them made me who I am today, and I am truly thankful for that.

What my Boyfriend Does Better than Me

Idea Bank #128: Describe something your spouse or partner does better than you.

This one really isn’t that hard to figure out for me. Johnny is really good on the computer. He programs and all that crazy stuff and is also good at gaming.

These two things he excels at. He does freelance coding as a side job and is pretty good. I have done a little bit of coding for work in the past but I had someone walking me through every step of the process and I forgot most of what I learned :/.

Also, he has been gaming for pretty much his whole life. His steam account has over 100 games vs. mine which only has about 20. When we are gaming together I am in my little corner having newbie difficulties while he is kicking butt. He is still teaching me to get better and we do game together. One of the games we like to play multi player on is 7 Days to Die. (7DD is basically a zombie horde game built like MineCraft.)

I hope you guys like this silly little, random post about me and Johnny. If you like these prompt posts let me know. I love getting comments from my readers.

Hope you all have a great day!

Self-psychoanalysis via your bookshelf or Music.

I found this idea on the Daily Post and when I saw it I instantly knew I wanted to write from the idea. It is interesting and different and makes you take a critical look at yourself from another perspective. So, I hope you guys and enjoy and maybe get to know me a little bit better.

Take the five books on your nightstand, the last five songs you listened to, the last five movies you watched, or the last five blog posts you liked — what do they say about you?

According to my books:
Ok, so when I first thought about this I started laughing because I just heard a voice in my head saying, “you have the bookshelf of a middle age house wife with a boring sex life.” To explain why this popped in my head, I love reading romance novels. (Some of my favorites authors are Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kerrilyn Sparks and Martha)

But for me it isn’t about the smut that, for some, is all they want to get off to. For me, I genuinely love the story lines and watching the characters come together and I just love happy endings.

These aren’t the only books in my collection I promise. I love fantasy, romance, mystery and paranormal/supernatural. So to analyze myself according to these books I would say, “The owner of these books wants to escape from real life. Loves to be transported to another world and get lost, forgetting about life. Not one to want to struggle through a text.”

According to my music:
I have an insanely eclectic taste in music, listening to everything from country to Broadway to metal and rock to hip-hop and pop, and I can switch between these genres without missing a beat.

My analysis would be: “Kim listens to a vast variety of music because she is crazy! (Haha just kidding!!!) But because she likes to experience different things and listen to whatever fits her mood or makes her happy. The kind of person to sing at the top of her lungs to a song. Helps her to cheer up, make her smile, feel for her when she needs to cry, or be the DJ when she wants to dance in the rain.”

Hope you enjoy this little insight to my brain. Big hugs, <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="" data-blogger-escaped-kimmie.="">

Junk Food Junkie

Doing a quick response to today's Daily Post Prompt: What’s your biggest junk food weakness? Tell us all about it in its sugary, salty, glory.

I LOVE ICE CREAM!!! Ice cream I think will forever be my guilty pleasure, comfort food, weakness. I love Ben and Jerry's ice cream even though they are kind of expensive at $5 a pint. Some of my favorite flavors are:

1. Ben and Jerry's Half Baked. This ice cream is basically as if they threw cookie dough ice cream and chocolate brownie ice cream together into a blender. It is vinilla and chocolate ice cream, cookie dough chunks and brownie pieces. This is usually my go-to ice cream.

2. Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Therapy. This is a CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD!!! Not even kidding, it is chocolate ice cream, chocolate cookie pieces, and swirls of chocolate pudding ice cream. This is litterally a therapy session for when I am feeling down!

3. Ben and Jerry's Phish Food. This is chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirled with marshmellow and caremel with fudge fish.

4. Private Selection Moose Tracks. This is a really good cheapy-store brand ice cream. It is either vanilla, chocolate or mint ice cream with peanut butter cups (the vanilla) or fudge cups (all the others) with fudge!

So those are my food weaknesses. Hope you enjoyed!

Weekly Pet Challenge, Part 1: Lemi!

Just for fun I wanted to participate in this pet challenge. So for the next couple weeks, who knows how long, I will be posting random pictures of my animals with a little post about them. After that I may continue just posting random pictures but who knows.

So I thought I would start with the animal I got first, my dog Lemi.

We adopted Lemi Winks from my mom's work friend who couldn't have her anymore because Lemi hated her husband. We have now had Lemi for about 7 years.

She is kinda annoying sometimes because she likes to yip ALOT and is sometimes one of the worst trained dogs, but I still love her all the same. So here are some cute pictures of her:

My 100th Post!!! The signs that I am getting older...

Super excited to be doing my 100th post! I hope you guys enjoy!

When we are a kid all we want is to grow up. We don't realize how fleeting childhood is, that is is something we should treasure and hold onto.

I like many others was this way. But, unlike some, I was forced by my situation to grow up at an early age. To take care of myself, to act like an adult, to realize that I had to support myself. I know that I am an adult but now that I am there I realize how much it sucks! I feel like this accuratly represents my feelings about being an adult:

I know I am getting older because...
1. I have a car payment. Gah yes, I have to pay $400 a month now to pay off my little Honda Civic Coup. Thank you aunty for cosigning!

2. I am in college. Dear God, I have a technical, in depth transfer plan and everything.

3. I have a full time job. Yup, working girl here.

4. I pay for most things myself. Gah, why is everything so expensive! Can't I go back to being little when the only thing I cared about was being a kid?!

5. I am constantly worrying about money and being able to afford things.

6. I have to make all my decisions myself and I am on my own.

7. Now that I am 18 I could go to big girl jail!
