Thanksgiving Summary

Hey all! I am sorry I haven't been updating recently, what with finals and essays galore I have barely had any time what so ever! I hope you all had amazing Thanksgiving breaks and yummy food comas!

For this Thanksgiving I was fortunate enough to get to go up to Nor Cal to spend Thanksgiving with my dad. The bus ride up to there was really long and boring (9 hours!!!) but the week itself was so much fun. They have 3 dogs: Saki, Mika and Max and they are so hyper and loving and always there to play with. And on top of that my dad's girlfriend's kids are really awesome and I got along great with them. (However, I didn't get to meet the two boys until the day after Thanksgiving because they were with their dad).

On Thanksgiving day we ate dinner rather early and had more of a Thanksgiving lunch so that way we could celebrate with my "somewhat step sister" before she went to Thanksgiving dinner with her boyfriend's family. We spent the rest of that day enjoying each other's company and watching funny movies and YouTube videos(and I was able to call Johnny that evening because he was back at home!)

But what most people forget is that Thanksgiving and Christmas are about more than eating a lot and getting presents. It is about being with those you love and being able to be thankful for everything around you. If you truly look at your life how thankful are you on a daily basis? Most don't want to admit that we really aren't that thankful. So especially around this time of year make sure to be super grateful for everything in your life because you always have to remember that their is someone out there who doesn't have what you do and could be wishing they did right this moment. So be thankful for everything you have and make sure to let your family know how much you love them because the Holidays only come once a year! Rest In Peace, My Dear Friends

I realized that yesterday marked the anniversary of loosing my "Fairy God Mother" Diane L. Jonasson. I will never forget being woken up to hear my mom crying because we had gotten the news that Diane had passed away. She had been my mom's best friend for longer than I could remember. She has survived ovarian cancer only to be taken down by a brain aneurysm. 

Then less than two years afterwards, I remember breaking down and crying in front of everyone at SCJ Kickball because my God Brother Erick Jonasson also left this earth. According to the doctors he died of clogged arteries, but anyone who knew him better would tell you that he died from a broken heart. He and his mom were like two peas in a pod and I know that he was hurting and struggling. 

(Yes, He was a bad a$$ pirate!)

They were both amazing and talented people who didn't deserve the hardships they were handed throughout life. They were kind and caring souls who I am proud to have been able to call family. They taught me so many things in life and was always there with a smile and words of encouragement. Every time I think of the times we spent together I still can't help but want to cry because they aren't here with me. I am truly thankful to have been able to be a part of both their memorial services. I know that they are in a better place watching over all of us and you will always stay in my heart. Rest In Peace and I love and miss you both dearly.

Christian's First Birthday

This past weekend I got to go up to Pleasnton for Christian's First Birthday party. It was a Hawian Luau themed party. It was really exciting because the weekend turned out to be a mini family reunion. We had three generations of our familyt there and I got to meet my cousin Kevin's kids for the first time. (His oldest is almost nine, thats how long it has been!) Here is the big birthday boy!

Unfortunatly he was fussy all day long and didn't want to be held or picked up by anyone who wasn't mom, dad or grandparent. But it was pretty funny watching him try and throw a nerf ball that was almost as tall as he is. My cousin Ursula made him his own little cake and he was hesitant and didn't know what to do at first and finally just started grabbing at the cake and the frosting. He was so covered in blue frosting we were cracking jokes that he had turned into a smurf. Little tip I found out at his party, baby's like playing with the tissue paper more that what comes wrapped up inside it! After his party my cousin Kevin, his kids and parents and my mother, sister and I went to the Denny's by our hotel and just caught up. It was really amazing to see all of us in one place and actually feel like a family. (side note there was a huge accident by the Denny's!) Then spent "cousin time" with Kevin watching Wild Wild West in our hotel room. Now we have all come together and decided on the planning of a legit family reunion in August 2014 at Montery Bay! Woop! Super excited :) I have to say I was pretty proud of myself that I drove at least 70% of the trip and did a darn good job at it! But I really hate that long 2-lane stretch of the I-5 that just goes through the middle of no where. SNOOZE-FEST!!! Another long weekend over with and time for some good sleep recovery! Goodnight world!

I'm back!

Hey blogging world! So I know I kinda went AWOL for a bit, here's what I was up to: 

I experienced extreme stress (and still am) over college applications and now scholarships. I don't think I've ever talked about myself that much! First of all, I hate writing essays to begin with so that was not fun at all. But thankfully they are all submitted and that is such a huge weight off my shoulders...but unfortunately it has been replaced with scholarships. But on the bright side, scholarships mean cheaper college for me :)

I got to go see my family and have a wonderful time on Christmas! My family actually all got along which is an achievement and, in typical Clark fashion, we were completely insane! My aunt always makes the best food and this year we had her famous mash potatoes, ham, spicy chicken and so much more! 

To wrap up the major events, I drove with my aunt up to Pleasanton to visit my cousin Ursula and finally meet my adorable little Christian :) he is such a flirt and has accepted the fact that he is just to cute. I mean seriously, look at this adorable little boy right here: 

 Isn't he adorable? He has such an active personality for being six months (now seven) old. And on top of that, I missed my cousin (Christian's mom) so much, she is more like my sister to me than a cousin. (So much so that I've actually called Christian my nephew a couple times!)  I feel so blessed that I got the opportunity to bond with him and spend a weekend with both Christian and Ursula, it reminded me how important my family is to me.

 Oh, almost forgot! There was one major change while I was up in Pleasanton! *drum roll* 

 That's right I cut my hair! And I decided that I wanted to do something drastic to symbolize how much my life is changing and that I vow to make those changes for the best! I learned a valuable lesson: I can waste my life trying to make everyone else happy but at the end of the day my own happiness is what matters the most. So sometimes I may have to make some difficult choices but in the end I will to what is best for me and leads towards the brightest future.
